Say No to the Death Penalty Free Essays
Counting the seconds and minutes to your death. Inhaling your last breath. The next thing you know, the prison doctor has just injected a lethal drug into you. We will write a custom essay sample on Say No to the Death Penalty or any similar topic only for you Order Now How do you not feel pain, empathy or sadness? But, you know that the doctor brushes it off as if it nothing happened. All because of something we call ââ¬ËThe Death Penalty.â⬠The death penalty affects people who are wrongly convicted, the positive affect because there isnââ¬â¢t a death penalty in our society and human morality. How do you feel about innocent people dying? Innocent people are wrongly convicted on a daily bases, so why put these people in jail. Those who opposed this argument say â⬠the people who commit a crime, deserve to die. ââ¬ËSix Canadian prisoners were convicted of a dangerous crime and later released due to their innocent. The six Canadians were condemned for the first degree murder and if there were death penalty then these six innocent people would have died. Another reason is that the prisoners should have the time to prove their innocence. I say this because after the trial. If new evidence is found then itââ¬â¢s very difficult to start another trial. Itââ¬â¢s a life of a person in your hands and nothing should be neglected. Such as David Milgaard who was sentenced to life in prison. He was the suspected killer for the murder of Gail Miller. He spent 22 years in prison and was freed by DNA evidence. Once you go to prison, it makes a profound impact on your life. Have you read the human rights from the United Nations? In the third law it states â⬠Any person right to life, liberty and security of person.â⬠If Canada, reinstates the death penalty thatââ¬â¢s violating the human rights. It would be a very embarrassing moment for Canada for all we stand for and worked for. We are a country that is highly respected and is known for fighting for our rights. We have all the right to life. Do you think the death penalty affects things in our society? First reason is that there are fewer murders because there is not the death penalty. Since, there is no death penalty in Canada; the murder rate has decreased since 1970ââ¬â¢s. In 2009, the murder rate in Canada was 1.81 homicides per 100.000 populations. If we compare the static between Brazil is a big difference. Canada was 1.81 homicides and Brazil at 25.2homicide rates. Also, Brazil has no death penalty since 1988. The buildings in order to save water are using air-cooled chillers rather than water-cooled chiller.LED lights are used wherever possible to save electricity and 80% of the construction waste was diverted from landfills. Further, daylight sensors, extra insulations, condensed gas boilers and extensive skylights are some of the key usage to maintain sustainability in the building. Ralph Emerson wrote many journals and essays dealing with the subject of transcendentalism. One of his most famous works is the essay ââ¬Å"Self-Reliance.â⬠In ââ¬Å"Self-Reliance,â⬠Emerson hit on the idea that the individual should be completely reliant on God, and that every person has been put into their certain life and position by God and that the person needs to trust themselves. He said that God has put the power to handle things, think, and act into each individual and that the individual needs to trust what God has put inside them to do things with their lives. The idea is almost that of predestination, except for the fact that we have the choice of which road to take. Predestination is the idea that a higher power, or God, has planned everything that will happen to a person in their life. Emersonââ¬â¢s idea is that God has put the choice to us, but he has given us all of our unique gifts for the paths we can choose to take. In ââ¬Å"Self-Reliance,â⬠Em erson wrote, ââ¬Å"Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. Accept the place the divine providence has found for you, the society of your contempararies, the connection of eventsâ⬠(Runes 362). Emerson also gave the idea of trusting ourselves through God. He said that you have to trust in God to tell you what to do and what to think. He said that if you do this that God will provide answers (363). State of the U.S. Macroeconomy - Essay Example Over the last twelve months, the economic recovery that began in the year 2009 is observed to have strengthened. Although the growth has not been fast enough to have a significant impact on the job market, the GDP of the country has shown drastic improvement. For instance, February 2015, the US dollar is seen to gain strength over the Canadian dollar. Furthermore, the US dollar has traded favorably with UK pound. Between 2014 and 2015, the US dollar has recorded tremendous improvement over the British pound moving from 0.58 to 0.66 British pounds. This figure translates that, for every 1 US dollar is equivalent to 0.66 British pounds. A foreign exchange rate determines how much a unit of currency will be exchanged for another currency (Thomson, 2015). I know most of you could be wondering what determined these foreign exchange rates. Foreign exchange rates are determined by various factors such as the current market forces of demand and supply. In other words, how much the demand for a currency is in relation to its supply will determine the value of the currency in relation to other currencies. For instance, if the demand of the US dollar increases, the value of its currency in relation to other currencies will rise (Thomson, 2015). Thank you for listening to me and for your cooperation.
